Where We've come from
Glowyard is the story of a visionary Chinese enterprise that transformed from a modest lighting workshop into a globally recognized manufacturer and innovator of premium solar garden lighting solutions.
2011
The Beginning
In 2011, Nathan Liang founded Soume Co., Ltd. in Hong Kong, focusing on the import and export of home and lifestyle products.
From the very beginning, the company was built with a global mindset, committed to international standards, long-term partnerships, and sustainable growth in overseas markets.
2013
Rapid Growth
Within just two years, the company achieved strong momentum, with annual revenue exceeding RMB 30 million.
Our product portfolio expanded rapidly to include home organization, garden décor, outdoor living products, home textiles, furniture, and solar garden lighting, positioning Soume as a comprehensive sourcing and trading partner for global clients.
2015
Brand Breakthrough
In response to market evolution, Soume launched its multi-brand strategy and introduced Glowyard, a dedicated brand for solar garden lighting and garden décor.
During this period, we established strategic partnerships with major European and North American retail chains and co-developed over 100 products, supplying markets worldwide. This marked our transition from pure trading to brand-driven and value-focused development.
2018
Manufacturing Integration
To gain full control over quality and delivery, Soume invested in a joint-venture manufacturing facility in Quanzhou, Fujian.
This milestone enabled a fully integrated workflow—from product design and R&D to manufacturing—significantly elevating product quality, consistency, and production efficiency.
Our clients’ innovative designs could now be realized at scale with reliable quality, efficient lead times, and worry-free after-sales support.
2019
Global Expansion
The establishment of Soume Lighting Industry and Trade Co., Ltd. marked the creation of our global marketing and product development headquarters.
By this stage, the number of co-developed products had grown to over 300, reinforcing Glowyard’s professional positioning in solar garden lighting and outdoor décor.
2022
Reaching New Markets
By participating in the China Import and Export Fair (Canton Fair), we accelerated our global expansion strategy, extending our garden décor and outdoor lighting solutions beyond Europe and North America to customers across multiple international markets.
2025
On the Global Stage
In 2025, Glowyard exhibited at spoga+gafa, the world’s leading trade fair for garden and outdoor products in Germany.
This milestone represents our transition from regional exhibitions to the international industry stage, establishing Glowyard as a recognized and trusted player in the global garden and outdoor lighting sector.
